Colgate is officially on a heater and Jack Turner is a huge reason why.

The Leading Edge 2021 alum by way of Ridge popped off for a hat trick, two assists, three ground balls and a pair of takeaways to help the Raiders race past Loyola, 18-6, in both teams’ Patriot League opener.

The win was Colgate’s fourth straight after dropping a pair of games to open the season. It was Turner’s fourth hat trick of the season and helped him tie his single-season career assist best.

’22 defenseman Ryan Bilello (Manasquan) led the defense with a takeaway and three ground balls.

Cornell 22, Hobart 9
Cornell 12, Richmond 11

Wouldn’t you know it, ’20 CJ Kirst (Delbarton) is still pretty good. The All-American attackman was out of this world against Hobart, putting forth a ludicrous six-goal, six-assist, one-ground ball, one-takeaway day for the Big Red.

He had a major fend in helping Cornell fend off Richmond’s upset bid, too. Kirst scored a hat trick and added an assist, a caused turnover and a ground ball for the Big Red.

Penn State 15, Yale 9

’20 Jack Aimone (Hunterdon Central) popped off for the Nittany Lions. The senior buried a hat trick and handed out an assist as Penn State rolled past Yale. ’21 defenseman Kevin Parnham (Pingry) took the ball away once and snagged a ground ball, too.

’23 Cole Cashion (Rumson-Fair Haven) responded with a goal, a takeaway and two ground balls for Yale. ’22 defenseman Konrad Miklaszewski (Montclair) had a takeaway and a ground ball for the Bulldogs.

Harvard 20, Marquette 16

’24 Graham Stevens (Pingry) was excellent in the Crimson cage. The freshman starter turned aside 14 shots, caused a turnover and added a ground ball as Harvard won for the third time in four games.

Delaware 11, High Point 6

’23 John McCurry (Wall) scored five times for the third time in his career to help the Blue Hens climb past High Point.

Holy Cross 11, Bucknell 10

’21 SSDM Cal McPherson (Pingry) scooped up two ground balls in the Crusaders’ overtime win.

’22 goalie Jaz Zanelli (Seton Hall Prep) stopped 10 shots and picked up four ground balls in the Bison cage.

Princeton 15, Duke 14
Duke 11, Penn 6

’22 Luke Engelke (Pingry) was outstanding for the Blue Devils, going 8-for-10 at the faceoff stripe with two ground balls against the Tigers. He added five faceoff wins and a pair of ground balls in the win over the Quakers.

’22 LSM Ryan McLaughlin (Mountain Lakes) collected a ground ball for Penn.

Maryland 11, Notre Dame 10

’23 Sean Creter (Hunterdon Central) won a pair of faceoffs and grabbed the ground balls on both as the Terps knocked off the national champions in a rematch of last spring’s national title game.

’23 All-American defenseman Shawn Lyght (Seton Hall Prep) collected a ground ball after causing a turnover for the Irish.

Monmouth 16, Wagner 7
Monmouth 11, Mount St. Mary’s 10

’22 Matt Dollive (Wall) paced the Monmouth offense with a pair of assists and five ground balls against Wagner. He added a goal and a ground ball in the win over the Mount.

’21 faceoff midfielder Ethan Cronk (Ridgewood) was dominant with a 10-for-16, four ground ball day against the Seahawks. He added four ground balls to help Monmouth sweep the week.

Robert Morris 17, Hobart 7

’21 Brendan Cina (Sparta) paired two caused turnovers with two ground balls in the win.

Providence 18, Merrimack 7

’21 midfielder Will Ferraro (Seton Hall Prep) dished out an assist to help the Friars roll.

Lehigh 10, Villanova 7

’23 Jake Melchionni (Delbarton) had the best game of his college career for the Wildcats. The LSM corralled a whopping seven ground balls to go with a pair of caused turnovers. Villanova also got a trio of ground balls from ’23 defenseman Beau Kemler (Rumson-Fair Haven).

Army 15, Lafayette 5

’24 Nick Blalock (Christian Brothers) scored twice for the Leopards. ’24 defenseman John Finkeldie (Delbarton) collected two ground balls and took the ball away once for Lafayette.

Syracuse 15, Utah 5

’21 LSM Colby Plotts (Sparta) scored yet again for the Utes.

Ohio State 7, Bryant 5

’24 Jordan Hernando (Mountain Lakes) won his lone faceoff and collected a ground ball in the process for the Bulldogs.

Saint Joseph’s 11, Rutgers 5

’21 Logan Peters (Wall) scored once for the Scarlet Knights.

Johns Hopkins 13, Virginia 12

’21 Griffin Kology (Chatham) caused a turnover on the back end for the ‘Hoos.

Towson 17, UMBC 10

’23 Ryan Demato (St. Augustine Prep) tallied once and set up another goal for UMBC.

Dartmouth 14, Vermont 9

’22 Cullen Decker (Chatham) secured a pair of ground balls for the Catamounts.

Division III

Washington & Lee 12, Washington College 10
Denison 14, Washington & Lee 12

’22 James Haley (Westfield) had a pair of monster games for the Generals. He posted two goals, two assists and a whopping eight ground balls in the win over WAC. Haley tacked on five goals and a ground ball against Denison.

’24 LSM Gabe Reiter (Delbarton) bagged four ground balls and caused a turnover against the Shoremen before turning in two ground balls against Denison.

Gettysburg 15, Stevenson 6

’21 Jack Dunleavy (Seton Hall Prep) set up three goals and added an assist as the Bullets shot past Stevenson.

Bowdoin 16, Trinity 15

’23 Bo Page (Taft, Conn.) erupted for four goals and two assists for Trinity.

Amherst 16, Middlebury 7

’23 James Farinacci (Manasquan) bagged up a ground ball for Middlebury.
