Beau Kemler was an absolute WEAPON at the forefront of Villanova‘s upset Big East win over Denver.
The Leading Edge 2023 and sophomore defenseman by way of Rumson-Fair Haven seemingly grabbed every ground ball during the game. Kemler finished with 10 ground balls and also added three caused turnovers to help the Wildcats stun the Pioneers, 10-9.
’23 LSM Jake Melchionni (Delbarton) was also a vacuum off the ground for Villanova. Melchionni finished with six ground balls and a pair of takeaways for ‘Nova. ’24 Daniel Flaim (Summit) also connected for his first career goal in the win.
Yale 15, Brown 12
’23 Cole Cashion (Rumson-Fair Haven) bagged a hat trick to go with two ground balls to pace the Bulldogs. ’22 LSM Konrad Miklaszewski (Montclair) secured a pair of ground balls in the win.
Cornell 15, Penn 5
’20 CJ Kirst (Delbarton) continued his transcendent senior season with two goals, three assists, a pair of ground balls and a takeaway to help the Big Red stay red-hot.

’24 goalie Graham Stevens (Pingry) backstopped the Crimson to a pair of wins. He stopped eight shots to go with three ground balls and a takeaway against the Terriers, then added 14 saves and a pair of ground balls against the Bearcats.

’22 Cullen Decker (Chatham) went off for a hat trick, two assists and a takeaway to spearhead the Catamounts’ rout.

’21 Jack Turner (Ridge) popped off for four goals and a ground ball as the Raiders ran past Navy.

’21 LSM Colby Plotts (Sparta) was a weapon for the Utes, grabbing four ground balls and causing a pair of turnovers.

’21 Ethan Cronk (Ridgewood) was a perfect 8-for-8 at the faceoff stripe to go with two ground balls as the Hawks soared.

’24 defenseman John Finkeldie (Delbarton) paired a caused turnover with a ground ball to help the Leopards win their fourth straight.

’21 SSDM Brendan Cina (Sparta) highlighted the Colonials’ rout with a goal and a takeaway.

’22 Luke Engelke (Pingry) won eight faceoffs and collected ground balls on four of them for the Blue Devils. ’20 defenseman Cole Krauss (Delbarton) caused a turnover for Duke.

’20 Jack Aimone (Hunterdon Central) put forth a goal and an assist for the Nittany Lions. Penn State also got a ground ball and a takeaway from ’21 defenseman Kevin Parnham (Pingry).

’23 Ryan Demato (St. Augustine Prep) snapped home a goal and collected two ground balls for the Retrievers.

’24 Rob Tyra (Arthur L. Johnson) picked up a pair of ground balls for the Warriors.
