bio

Brian LaMastro returns for his third year coaching with Leading Edge Lacrosse, bringing a wealth of experience as both a player and a coach. A standout at Bridgewater-Raritan High School, Brian earned All-American honors in 1997 under legendary coach Chuck Apel.

He went on to play collegiately at the University of Hartford, where he was a key contributor to two nationally ranked teams (’00 and ’02). In 2000, Brian led the nation in assists with 52, and by the end of his career, he had rewritten the program’s record books—finishing as Hartford’s all-time leader in points, goals, and assists. He capped off his collegiate career by being named the America East Player of the Year in 2002. In recognition of his outstanding achievements, Brian was inducted into the University of Hartford Athletics Hall of Fame in 2011.

Following college, Brian was drafted by the Toronto Rock of the National Lacrosse League (NLL).

As a coach, Brian is passionate about developing players’ understanding of the game. He emphasizes strong fundamentals on both ends of the field and brings a detail-oriented approach to teaching offensive and defensive concepts.

Brian is a resident of Chatham, New Jersey, and serves on the local lacrosse board, continuing to give back to the sport at the youth level.
