Andrew Macheca, a proud Leading Edge alumnus, has built a strong reputation as a dependable short-stick defensive midfielder at Rutgers. In 2023, he earned the Al Twitchell Award as the team’s Most Valuable Freshman, quickly proving his impact. Since then, he has been a consistent contributor, appearing in every game across his first three seasons and bringing grit, energy, and versatility to the Scarlet Knights’ midfield unit.
At Rutgers, Andrew has demonstrated steady growth, collecting ground balls, causing turnovers, and providing reliable defensive presence against top competition. Prior to college, he was a two-year starter at Culver, where he helped lead his team to a 20-2 record and a No. 3 national ranking. He also earned recognition as a Midwest Under Armour All-American.
