Jaz Zanelli made sure Bucknell started its season off right.
The Leading Edge 2022 alum by way of Seton Hall Prep denied five shots sent his way to secure a 14-8 win for the Bison over Manhattan in both teams’ season opener.
Zanelli also scooped up two ground balls and added a caused turnover to headline the stingy Bison defense.

’23 defenseman Billy Carr (Wall) caused his first career turnover and collected a ground ball to highlight a standout day from the Pioneers’ defense.
Rutgers 11, Jacksonville 10
’22 Andrew Macheca (Culver, Ind.) had a ground ball as the Scarlet Knights started their season with an overtime win in Florida.
Air Force 13, Lafayette 12
’24 Nick Blalock (Christian Brothers) paired two goals with two assists to pace the Leopards’ offense. He also added a takeaway, as did ’24 defenseman John Finkeldie (Delbarton). ’24 goalie Patrick Roelke (Delbarton) made his first career start and stopped six shots, caused a turnover and grabbed a ground ball for Lafayette.

’23 John McCurry (Wall) bagged a pair of goals to go with two ground balls for the Blue Hens.
Penn State 18, Colgate 14
’22 defenseman Ryan Bilello (Manasquan) snagged a pair of ground balls for the Raiders.
